Set list at Dry Dock open mic

May 29, 2026

Straight out of the car on the way back from holiday and into a slightly strange atmosphere at the open mic. You never quite know what's going to happen when Duncan's in charge. (There was an excellent singer, I think called Dawn, in town for the folk festival doing top-notch songs a-cappella. It's just as well it's not a competition.) My set list:

I mean, I was also in a weird mood, after several hours in the car, much of which was spent writing Tell The Judge I Said Hi, which I played without having really figured out how it ought to go. It went about as well as you'd imagine, but there's something there -- I'll go back with something rehearsed next time.

I only play I Like The Pope because it amuses me. I used the new couplet "I like the Pope, he's a sensible chap, he thinks AI is unholy crap." Honestly, it got more laughs on Mathstodon.
